Trial on California Gay-Marriage Ban to Be Posted Online
Arguments in a lawsuit challenging the ban on same-sex marriage in California will be posted on YouTube, a first for a federal trial in the state. The case won’t be broadcast live, however. Instead, Chief U.S. District Judge Vaughn Walker in San Francisco today approved a delayed release to the Internet, the San Francisco Chronicle explains. Sponsors of the voter-approved Proposition 8 objected to any broadcast, claiming it would intimidate their witnesses and violate their right to a fair trial.
