Prison Guards Punished for Gay Wedding
LOWELL, FL USA
After allowing a wedding ceremony to take place between two female inmates, eight prison guards have been disciplined at the Lowell Correctional Institution. Inmates were allowed to decorate for the ceremony and perform it in one of the dormitories. As a result, one office was fired, another resigned, and six were suspended. One of the couple was transferred to another prison. Officials say allowing inmates to gather for the event put the facility at risk.
