Man Charged in Croatia’s First Hate Crimes Case
Zabreg, Croatia
A 25 year old man was indicted on hate crime charges yesterday in the capital city of Zagreb for allegedly attempting to attack a gay pride parade in July.
This is the first time hate crimes charges have been brought in the country since their addition to penal code last year.
Police claim the man was planning to throw gasoline-filled bottles at parade-goers. He was caught before the attack could be carried out.
