Man Accused Of Attacking Girl For Being Gay
A man appeared in court Tuesday on charges that he kicked a teenage girl in the head because she’s gay. The alleged attack happened in May. Police arrested Eduardo Herrera June 14 on charges of intimidation and assault. The victim was sitting on a curb on Southwest Broadway and Southwest Oak Street at about 3 a.m. outside a night club, police said. Herrera approached her and asked for a cigarette and after she told him she didn’t have one he asked her if she was gay. She said “yes” and the man attacked her and kicked her in the head, police said.
