Irish Gay Rights Protesters Chain Themselves to Parliament
Gay rights activists chained themselves to the gates of Dáil Eireann today in protest at the Government’s proposed Civil Partnership Bill. Members of the pressure group Equals used chains to lock onto the main gates of Government buildings and unfurled a rainbow flag with the words ‘Marriage Rights Are Equal Rights’. The group says that the Government’s proposed Civil Partnership Bill creates a two-tier society where gay people and their families are treated as second class citzens.

What the hell is wrong with this country? I pay my taxes, have worked all my life, my salary contributions towards healthcare (I have private health care), windows pensions, childrens allowance……… but because I’m gay I’m not allowed equal status with my straight brothers……… what the hell is wrong with this government? What have I done to deserve to be enshrined in law as “not worthy of marriage? There is only one answer, politicians are cowards and afraid of upsetting the church and people with so called “christian” values. What the hell is wrong with you people
He. Symbolism is what is just as important. While I sympathize with our gay friends in Ireland re Marriage, just think of what a bid dick in the eye it will be to the pope for civil unions to take hold in Ireland.
And the other thing that needs more exposure is how the Catholic “christian brothers” who ran reform schools and orphanages abused the children in their charge. Sexually, overworked, underfed, put in freezing buildings. Legal damages against the so called church – a hate group bent only on power and control of minds, will prob run into the billions of Euro’s.
But what else would you expect from the longest lived monstrostity of the western world.
