Family Fears Man Was Fatally Stabbed Because He Was Gay
The family of a man knifed to death during a fight in a Broomfield bar fears he was attacked because he was gay. The Adams County Coroner’s Office identified the stabbing victim as Matias Mondragon, 31, of Ranchos De Taos, N.M. He died of a single knife wound to the chest after a fight at the Night Owl Lounge, 2000 W. Midway Blvd., about 1:48 a.m. Sunday. Police found Mondragon about one block from the bar. He was transported to a hospital, where he died.
