A promise by gay activists to turn the Margaret Court Arena into a sea of rainbow colors has not eventuated, but debate over Court’s views on homosexuality continues to rage at the Australian Open. Bernie Finn, a staunchly conservative Victorian state Liberal MP, yesterday accused “extremists” within the gay community of “rainbow fascism” in response to public comments by Court, who has spoken publicly against homosexuality and gay marriage.
